Meanwhile, the Banyuwangi Election Supervisory Board (Badan Pengawas Pemilu) has instructed its subordinates to closely monitor the process of voter data verification (pencocokan dan penelitian) for the 2024 Pilkada. The Division of Prevention, Community Participation, and Public Relations of Banyuwangi Bawaslu, Khomisa Kurnia Indra, announced that there are many aspects that need to be supervised during the coklit phase. According to her, after the determination of the 2024 election’s final voter list (DPT), there are many elements to observe leading up to the Pilkada, such as voters who have passed away, residents who are married but not yet 17 years old, residents who have moved, and new voters who have completed e-KTP recording. “These elements are crucial to observe to ensure that the final voter list in Banyuwangi aligns with the actual conditions on the ground,” she emphasized on Wednesday.

PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto voiced his opinion on the rumor about a duet between Anies Baswedan and Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, also known as Ahok, as governor and deputy governor candidates in the Jakarta Pilkada. Hasto stated that his party welcomes the nation’s best talents.

This decision is inspired by his resolve to provide a fresh option, presenting a new perspective and background to the Banten community, outside the long-standing ruling dynasty in the region. Wismansyah’s tenure in Tangerang has been recognized for advancement in city management and development of inclusive infrastructure, creating a firm groundwork to advance Banten Province. In this context, he is resolved to promoting social equity, sustainable development, and balanced growth throughout Banten. Arief conveyed his willingness to face the challenges of the Pilkada in Banten with a vision centered on positive transformation and improvements for all societal layers. He disclosed that his decision to run was initially not planned, but the support from the community and his family made him reconsider. He stated that a meeting with Ma’ruf Amin, the Vice President significantly affected his decision to run. “I was asked by Ma’ruf Amin, and we had a meeting. He asked, are you really running, Mr. Arief? If you want to run, you have to win; if you’re not sure you can win, don’t run, he said. I believed he was correct. Finally, on Monday afternoon, I decided to run,” Arief said when interviewed in the Karawaci neighborhood of Tangerang City, Sunday. Arief also shared his views on the dominant political dynasty in Banten, noting the division in the community related to this dominance. Nevertheless, he is confident about contending with famous candidates in the region. “I hope to work together with the Banten community to progress together, including with the existing dynasties,” he added. Arief highlighted his readiness to collaborate with various parties for the advancement of Banten, without neglecting the interests of the people. “Whatever the outcome, I hope the next leadership can provide the best for Banten,” he concluded. With this step, Arief Rachadiono Wismansyah calls upon the people of Banten to support a shared vision in progressing the region through the upcoming election.
