New parents who are visually impaired may find it helpful to label materials. A few tools available for labeling items include Braille labels, talking labels, and tactile labels. When labeling items there are many considerations to make. Pacifier clips are also helpful tools for new parents. Pacifier clips allow a pacifier to be attached to a young child’s clothing. Clips make locating a pacifier much easier for all parents. Clips are available from many different retailers.
Reading to young children provides a strong foundation for literacy and learning. Parents who are visually impaired may access books, which can be mailed to parents through the national library service. The book is the actual children’s book with Braille. The cost of this services is $50 for 6-months.
