Head of the West Java Provincial KPU, Ummi Wahyuni, stated that the simultaneous regional elections in West Java will cost around IDR 1.1 trillion. “The budget for the regional elections in West Java is IDR 1.1 trillion,” she said.
**Explanation from Candidates and KPU** The spokesperson for the legal team of the petitioner (Sam HC – Rizky Boncel), Susianto, demanded that KPU Malang City re-verify the data of 13,615 supports that were declared ineligible (TMS). “We have proposed three options: re-upload the data to the Candidacy Information System (Silon), manual counting, or re-administrative verification,” stated Susianto. He added that there are real data such as support letters accompanied by scanned e-KTPs and excel data of the support counts that were deemed TMS. The Sam HC team requests that KPU re-upload this data to the Candidacy Information System (Silon). “That is what we are disputing in this process. We also want a maximum deadline of seven days for re-uploading the data,” stated Susianto.
Chairman of Bawaslu Malang City, Mochammad Arifudin, stated that the petitioner’s main points, namely the independent candidate pair Sam HC-Rizky Boncel, had been presented. However, the respondent’s response was postponed to June 26, 2024. “The respondent was not ready to provide their response. We have also not received the draft from the respondent,” said Arifudin after the hearing. The dispute arose after the KPU’s administrative verification results declared that the Sam HC-Rizky Boncel pair had only submitted 40,689 support documents out of the minimum requirement of 48,882 supports needed to become independent candidates in the 2024 Pilkada. Meanwhile, according to Sam HC-Rizky Boncel, they had 54,000 supports. In a closed mediation at Bawaslu Malang City on Saturday, no agreement was reached, leading to the adjudication hearing.
Hasyim added that in the 2024 Regional Elections, the KPU RI will also adopt special polling stations to ensure the fulfillment of voting rights for citizens. “To ensure that our citizens within the designated electoral areas can still vote, such as workers in plantations and mines who cannot return to their TPS at the address on their ID cards, special location TPS will be prepared,” Hasyim emphasized.

Not Ready to Talk For now, Dico Ganinduto is not ready to discuss about the prospect of other candidates running with him in the 2024 Pilkada. “Yes, we are not ready to say anything yet,” said Dico Ganinduto.
Maximum Effort When asked how optimistic he is about running in the 2024 Pilkada, Dico Ganinduto could not say for sure. He admits he can only make his best effort and leave the results to God Almighty. “I believe, as humans, we must strive and make maximum efforts. As much as possible, try with good intentions. We leave the results to Allah,” explained Dico Ganinduto.
I Am Ready Dico Ganinduto aims to give back to the country by running in the Pilkada. He is wholehearted and open-hearted if fate decides differently. “So, whatever the result, I am ready. I am sincere, as long as I make maximum efforts. My intention is to make a positive contribution to the country,” he stated.
“For the 2024 regional elections, we will prepare for a maximum of 600 voters per TPS, ensuring no merging of villages/sub-districts, ease of voter access to the TPS, not separating voters within the same family at different TPS, and local geographical aspects,” said KPU Chairman Hasyim Asy’ari at the Parliament Building in Senayan, Jakarta (15/5/2024).
For information, the registration of regional head candidate pairs will be open from August 27-29, 2024. After registering, the KPU will conduct research and verification of the documents of those who are still prospective candidates. If they meet the requirements, the KPU will determine these prospective candidates as regional head candidate pairs on September 22, 2024. Therefore, if any of them have already been elected as 2024 legislative candidates, they will have about one week before being inaugurated as members of the DPR and DPD on October 1, 2024.
