“The PKS Central Executive Board (DPP) in a meeting on June 20, 2024 decided to nominate Mr. Anies Rasyid Baswedan as the prospective governor candidate and Mr. Sohibul Iman as the prospective deputy governor candidate,” stated Syaikhu. He explained that the PKS Central Executive Board’s (DPP) decision to endorse Anies and Sohibul Iman in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada was based on suggestions from the PKS Jakarta Regional Executive Board (DPW). “I have received a letter from the Jakarta DPW structure that has proposed the Jakarta governor candidate to the DPP PKS, followed by the Jakarta deputy governor candidate to the DPP PKS. Among them is a letter requesting approval and determination of Mr. Anies Rasyid Baswedan and Mr. Mohammad Sohibul Iman as the governor and deputy governor candidates of Jakarta,” said Syaikhu.
According to Dody, the document review is being conducted together with the Jakarta Provincial Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu). He said that only the candidate pair Dharma Pongrekun and Kun Wardana Abyoto submitted support documents through the candidate information system (Silon) and physical documents in the form of citizen support. “They submitted digital files via the Silon application and physical documents in 29 containers, so we are still in the process of reviewing these documents with the Provincial Bawaslu,” he stated. “We are currently counting to see if the support meets the minimum requirements. If it does, we will issue a receipt. If it falls short, we will issue a return receipt,” he concluded.
“Whether through the civil service, retired military and police, socio-cultural groups, professional groups such as doctors, cultural figures, engineers, agricultural experts, and all other professionals can join PDIP,” said Hasto.

He also hopes that the decision on the candidate pair from the political parties (parpol) of the Coalition for Indonesia’s Future (KIM) in Jakarta can be made in July. “Hopefully, if given a deadline, I think this is a process and political dialogue cannot be given a time limit, so we also want to propose a definitive name as soon as possible,” concluded Eddy.

Syaikhu mentioned that PKS needs to build communication with other political parties (parpol) including NasDem to meet the requirements for nominating a governor and deputy governor in the Jakarta Pilkada. “PKS realizes it cannot nominate a candidate alone in the Pilkada because the number of seats we have does not yet meet the requirement to nominate independently, we only have 18 seats, while the requirement is 22. So we still need 4 more seats,” he stated. After NasDem, PKS will soon build communication with the Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB), Muhaimin Iskandar, or Cak Imin to build a coalition in the Jakarta Pilkada. “InsyAllah in the coming time I will also try to communicate with PKB, with Cak Imin,” he said.
He stated that transparency is a key principle in election administration. Thus, KPU must design systems to actualize this principle. “Previously, Sirekap was designed to publish photos of the C Result form. Hence, we are obliged to publicize the voting results from the polling station level,” he explained
Previously, PDIP DPP Chairperson Mr. Sotarduga proposed that if their party partners with PKB to nominate Anies Baswedan in the Jakarta Pilkada, they would offer the gubernatorial seat in East Java to PDIP. “For instance, in Jakarta, if PKB is the gubernatorial candidate, may PDIP become the gubernatorial candidate in East Java? Of course, it’s not a barter, but that’s what cooperation means, we can’t achieve everything on our own, we must collaborate,” said Eriko at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, on June 25, 2024.
